Headed Home

Tired and satisfied!! Hunted in south Texas for hogs with the guys from Whitetails Unlimited, Savage Arms, Hide-a-Bow, Wild Adventures, and of course Lightfield ammunition. Had a good time seeing game but the jury is still out for me in regards to high fence hunting. I know most Texas hunting is high fence, just a new thing for me. I'll post some pictures as time allows since I'm stuck in the car for hours ,))

Tales from the Angle

The fall lull had set in, that time that is stuck between the end of summer and the opening of deer season. I am always up for an adventure. I’ve climbed glaciers in Alaska and fished in lakes so remote in northern Ontario that I had to hike five miles down an old Hudson Bay Trading trail just to get there. Truly unique destinations are worth going out of the way to experience. So when talk came up of visiting Lake of the Woods to experience not only world-class walleye fishing but to experience the best of Minnesota waterfowl hunting, I jumped. As it happened our trip also coincided with the Minnesota youth deer hunting season. It was the perfect opportunity to bring my niece Megan along for the youth deer hunt.

Up North

Headed up north to the most north point in Minnesota-Lake of the Woods for some EPIC Hunting and Fishing.
It looks like the Big Walleyes are biting, perhaps a bit smaller than Willie the Walleye but some of those epic above the slot fish. Waterfowl are also making their migratory flight so bagging a few will be in our near future. Then we are off to one of the many islands for deer hunting.
It promises to be a great week of hunting and fishing. I am eager to get back to the Lake of the Woods, the sporting experience is really second to none and the food up there, man-you just can't beat it!
Fresh Walleye, ducks, geese and deer-It's going to be a great week
