Pao Ying Hsiao, PhD, RDN, LDN (associate professor), Nicole Clark, DCN, RDN, LDN, CDE (associate professor), both in the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Department of Food and Nutrition, along with Johanna Boothby (assistant professor) of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Department of Nursing and Allied Health Professions, recently published in Teaching and Learning in Nursing.
This research study is the first to examine use of an interprofessional clinical simulation experience between nutrition, nursing, and speech-language pathology students.
The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ departments of Food and Nutrition, Nursing and Allied Health Professions, and Communication Disorders, Special Education, and Disability Services continue to work on efforts to give students hands-on practice, through interprofessional simulation experiences, that help them practice teamwork, communication, and empathy.
