Students entering seventh grade or higher in fall 2019 are eligible for the 2019 GenCyber Camp at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ June 24 through 28.
This free camp, funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation and the National Security Agency, is directed by Waleed Farag, director of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ’s Institute for Cyber Security and professor of computer science.
Upon completion of the camp, participants will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity in addition to mastering basic skills that help them be safer online; students in the camp will receive a Droid Inventor Kit to take home. Lunch and a snack will be provided as part of the program.
Space is limited; application deadline is May 3.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is the only school in western Pennsylvania that is part of this initiative; Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ has received almost $320,000 for the GenCyber program over the past four years.
