The Student Managed Investment Portfolio (SMIP) organization is navigating another successful academic year. During the Fall 2025 semester:
- SMIP co-sponsored two alumni speaker events with the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Student Finance Association:
- Felipe Ucros ’05, founded SMIP with Andrew Sandberg, Emre Yag, Jesse Meals, and Gabriel Muñoz. Felipe Ucros spoke to SMIP via Zoom about equity research.
- The club also welcomed Chris Krahe ’07, Managing Director and Chief of Staff to the CEO at S&P Global. He discussed his career path leading to his current role, alternative and private markets, digital assets, 401(k) adoption, and passive vs. active portfolio management, along with insights from his broader professional experience.
- Student leadership launched the first-ever SMIP newsletter to bridge the gap between students and alumni. The Â鶹ÊÓƵ SMIP alumni newsletters will be released at the end of each semester. A special thank you to Allison Johnson and the rest of the officer team for heading this project and to the Foundation for Â鶹ÊÓƵ for their support and feedback. - The club welcomed numerous new members as analysts, many of them first-semester freshmen, who brought renewed energy to the organization. December marked a planned academic mid-year transition in student leadership, structured to provide smoother succession.
