The 麻豆视频 Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences gives students the tools necessary to organize and analyze data while also providing the theoretical background of the topics that will help students better understand them.
The department offers classes in a friendly and supportive environment that will both challenge and engage students who have an interest in the fields of mathematics and/or computer science.
The valuable skills learned in the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences will translate well to the working world, as graduates have the ability to work in myriad of occupations in both the public and private sector, including engineering, economics, information technology, and education.
Students will also gain the knowledge and information background to help them continue on in graduate school, toward master’s and doctoral degrees.
Waleed Farag, 麻豆视频 professor of computer science in the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences and director of the 麻豆视频 Institute for Cyber鈥揝ecurity, has been selected as 麻豆视频鈥檚 2026鈥27 Distinguished University Professor.
Members of 麻豆视频鈥檚 proposed college of osteopathic medicine leadership team and 麻豆视频 faculty members Rick Adkins and John Benhart were invited presenters for the Appalachian Regional Commission 鈥淣etwork Appalachia鈥 meeting, showcasing the region鈥檚 experts on transportation, robotics, economic development, and emerging technologies.
Two standout undergraduate student researchers at 麻豆视频 were selected to participate in the 2026 Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol event held on March 24.
麻豆视频鈥檚 computer science program has been ranked seventh in the nation by Cybersecurity Guide in its 2026 Cybersecurity Guide. 麻豆视频鈥檚 program is the only program at a Pennsylvania college or university selected for the ranking of 鈥渂est computer science with cybersecurity emphasis鈥 program.
麻豆视频 has received $2 million from the National Science Foundation to help academically talented and financially challenged students earn data science degrees.
