Housing—If You Have Nowhere Else to Go and Require Housing:

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Housing and Break Housing (during winter breaks): 724-357-2696. Students residing off campus can receive temporary break housing in Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ residence halls. Call Housing for details and costs.

ICCAP (Indiana County Community Action Program): 724-465-2657. If you are struggling to pay rent or your mortgage, ICCAP offers programs to assist those experiencing difficulty with their rent or mortgage payments.

If you are homeless, please specify that you are homeless. ICCAP operates the Pathways Homeless Shelter and will have a staff member available to assist you. The Pathways Homeless Shelter’s phone number is 724-248-9555. There isn’t always a staff member there, so it is best to call ICCAP first.

will verify personal information and check clearances to ensure that individuals have not been arrested for a violent crime or are a Megan’s Law offender. Once they determine that someone is suitable, they will bring them into the shelter as soon as possible.

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Food Pantry and Help Center is located in . Hours of operation are listed on their site. You need your I-Card to swipe in, and you can visit as many times as you would like. Grocery bags are provided for your convenience.

The University College offers grab-and-go food options, a food pantry, and school supplies. It is located in B01 . They can be reached at universitycollege-inquiry@iup.edu or 724-357-2375.

Salvation Army (), Sally’s Choice Pantry: Call for an appointment (724-465-2530). They are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. They also have the Made to Share refrigerator, which is filled with food from Sheetz available during the same time. You must call for an appointment to visit the Made to Share refrigerator. There is also Sally’s Little Outside Pantry located outside the building, where food items can be picked up at any time.

The Pittsburgh Food Bank delivers fresh food (fruits, veggies, and sometimes eggs and milk) every other Friday, which is made available the following Monday.

The Center also offers a Gleaning Program, where residents can receive free bread, baked goods, and grocery items donated by local merchants, available year-round to those in need. They also have a diaper bank, as well as free dog and cat food and kitty litter.

Boxes of food weighing approximately 40–50 lb. are given out.

White Township Food Bank: Second Tuesday of every month at the Indiana Mall () from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for White Township residents only. Food is distributed at the back of the mall, directly behind the movie theater. Please arrive no later than 10:30 a.m. on the first visit, and bring a lease or a piece of mail with an address on it as proof of residency. Boxes of food weighing approximately 40–50 lb. are given out.
