Graduate student Andrew Malhotra and faculty member William Chadwick presented papers at the Middle Atlantic Archaeological Conference.

Andrew’s presentation, titled “Monongahela Phases: Criteria & How to Determine a Site’s Phase” was based on his thesis research. Andrew was also the general session chair of “Archaeology of the Native Peoples of the Mid-Atlantic where he presented his paper. 

William’s presentation, titled “Geophysical Survey in Newport, PA: an 18th Century Frontier River Town in Indiana County,” was based on the ground-penetrating radar results from data collected by undergraduate and graduate students during the 2021 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Archaeology Field School.

The Middle Atlantic Archaeological Conference was held in Ocean City, Maryland, and is a yearly conference for archaeologists, both avocational and professional, working in the Middle Atlantic area: a place to meet and discuss archaeological problems and issues, and present recent work and research.
