Apply for Graduation
If you are listed as a confidential student, your name will not appear in the University Commencement Program unless you notify the Registrar’s Office (undergraduate students) or the School of Graduate Studies and Research (graduate students). -
If you are planning to attend the in-person University Commencement Ceremony, please make sure that you apply to graduate and answer Yes to attend the ceremony. If you need to change your Graduation Application, the link to complete the Changes to Graduation Application can be found on the For Graduating Students card in MyÂé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Watch your email shortly after mid-semester for an invitation from iup-commencement@iup.edu inviting you to register to participate in the ceremony.

Review Degree Works with your advisor in your college.

Diploma Information

Apply for graduation, if you haven’t already.

Students can verify their graduation information (correct spelling or diploma name, diploma mailing address, and major and/or minor) on View Graduation Application on the Student Dashboard in MyÂé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Confirm degree requirements again with advisor.

Clear financial obligations with the Office of Student Billing.

Diploma will be mailed two to six weeks after last term of attendance.

Transcripts can be ordered through the National Student Clearinghouse (visit the Registrar’s Office).

To ensure your degree is included on the transcript, check “hold for degree” on the paper transcript request form. The transcript will be sent as soon as the degree is awarded.

If your degree is not needed on the transcript, order using any of the four options provided on the website.

Do You Have a Loan?
If you have a Federal Stafford loan, it is important for you to go to the website and complete the exit counseling session. You may also contact the Financial Aid office at 724-357-2218.
Your Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Email Account
Your Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ email account will become inactive 60 days after graduation. As an Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ graduate, however, you may enjoy a free alumni email account—Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Live Mail—from the Alumni Relations Office.
