Students from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ's MA and PhD counseling programs have been named to the Executive Board of the Pennsylvania Association for Specialists in Group Work.

Hecht Awarded Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Graduate Student Research Grant

Congratulations to Carol Lynn Hecht, from CES Cohort 4 at Pittsburgh East, for her recent awarding of an Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Graduate Student Research Grant. This grant will help fund Carol Lynn's dissertation research, titled "Experiences Providing End-of-Life Counseling: A Narrative Inquiry."

Nice Publishes Research Article in Journal of Counseling and Development

Matthew Nice, Department of Counseling, recently published a research article in the Journal of Counseling and Development, the flagship journal of the American Counseling Association and the counseling profession. The article analyzes 31 years of wellness and well-being counseling research. 

DeShong Announced as Graduate Student Ambassador

Alexis DeShong was recently announced as a graduate student ambassador for the PSCA Graduate School Connections.

PhD Counseling Alumna Cosby Wins Impact Award

Jessica Cosby, PhD Counseling alumna, received the Impact Award from the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ College of Education and Communications. She was recognized for outstanding achievement in her profession, engagement with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, and leadership.

Nice Wins 2023 AADA Outstanding Research Award

Matthew Nice was awarded the Association for Adult Development and Aging's 2023 Outstanding Research Award at the ACA conference in Toronto.

Counseling Department Presents Bivens With Outstanding Supervisor Award

The Department of Counseling at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ recently presented the Dr. Claire J. Dandeneau Outstanding Supervisor Award to Louise Bivens, a social worker at Indiana Regional Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Services.
