�鶹��Ƶ’s John and Char Kopchick Hall Offering Indiana Glass Exhibition as Part of Science on Display Project

Kopchick Hall’s “Science on Display”—featuring skeletons of prehistoric animals, the Charles Darwin Collection, a flight suit of the late �鶹��Ƶ alumna and astronaut Patricia Hilliard Robertson, and a student-created DNA Bunsen Burner sculpture—features more than 100 pieces of decorative and carnival glassware produced by the Indiana Glass Company, which operated in Indiana between 1892 and 1931.

Classic Meets Rock Returns to the Fisher Auditorium Stage

Classical music once again meets rock music when �鶹��Ƶ’s String Ensemble, directed by Kaleigh Accord, collaborates with the local rock band, Somebody to Love, for a concert entitled, “Classic Meets Rock 2.” Special guests will be the University Chorus directed by Joseph Stuligross. Also performing will be �鶹��Ƶ students Aleksander Maschmidt and Braxton Beaulieu as well as Indiana's own Chuck Olson, from The Six. Music from the Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and many more will be featured in the concert, which will take place on Tuesday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium on the campus of �鶹��Ƶ.

On Tuesday, November 28 at 7pm in the Indiana Theater in downtown Indiana PA, local electronic musicians Rapid Uncontrolled Disassembly partners with the �鶹��Ƶ Student Film Association in presenting a series of music videos. Over the course of six songs and six videos we’ll follow a number of characters that stretch into liminal dimensions and experience absurd activity. These realms appear familiar, yet otherworldly. The songs will be performed live and the music videos will be projected on the big screen behind them.

The Indiana County Highway Safety Project, part of �鶹��Ƶ’s Institute for Rural Health and Safety, is working with Armstrong County Commissioner Pat Fabian, District Attorney Katie M. Charlton, Armstrong County Sheriff Frank Pitzer, the Pennsylvania State Police, and Margy Gray from State Farm Insurance for an awareness campaign about safe driving during the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Driscoll and Yacoub Win Article Award from Association of Writing Across the Curriculum

Dana Driscoll (English, Writing Center) and Omar Yacoub (August 2023 graduate from the Composition and Applied Linguistics Doctoral program and former assistant director of the Jones White Writing Center) won a major article award for their 2022 article, “Threshold Genres; A 10-Year Exploration of a Medical Writer’s Development and Social Apprenticeship through the Patient SOAP Note.”
